Brenda L. Jones

Brenda L. Jones, 65, a resident of Knightstown passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 21, 1950 in Rushville, a daughter of the late Robert and Marjorie Dye and the late Chester A. Lightner.

Brenda married Rex A. Jones on April 5, 1969 in Rushville. She attended Rushville High School. A lifelong resident of Rush and Henry Counties, she worked at Fujitsu Ten, Du-well and Millers Merry Manor. Brenda was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, crafts and spending time at the lake.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years: Rex A. Jones; two sons: Jim (Holly) Jones and Shawn (Jane) Jones, both of Rushville; a daughter: Melissa (Mike) Griffin of Lewisville; eleven grandchildren she loved dearly: Janica Jones of Indianapolis, Jimmy and Jenna Jones, Casey and Cheyenne Chabre, all of Rushville, Ashley (Michael) Keesling of Lewisville, Hunter Jones of Rushville, McKenzie and Miranda Griffin of Lewisville, Jerry and Samantha Griffin of Carthage; two great grandchildren; three sisters: Linda Woods of Homer, Sue Cheek of Arlington and Jackie Duke of Rushville; three brothers: Richard (Sandra) Lightner of Bessemer City, NC, Bobby (Cindy) Dye of Milroy and Dickie (Laura) Dye of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law: James F. and Rubye Jones; a brother: William “Bill” Lightner and a daughter-in-law: Teresa “Tracey” Jones.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Roby Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown.
