Brenda White

Brenda Lee Dobbs White, age 57, of New Castle, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Richard Roudebush Veterans Hospital following a very brief illness. She was born March 24, 1951 in Ft. Knox, KY, the daughter of Clifford and Edna (Blevins) Dobbs.

She grew up in Spiceland, and had worked for Chrysler Corporation in New Castle, and was secretary and co-owner of White’s Sheet Metal and State Plastics, both in New Castle. A former member of Calvary Baptist Church, she was presently a member of the Spiceland Pike Church of God in New Castle. She enjoyed camping, especially the last several years at Kamp Modoc. A horse enthusiast, she enjoyed horseback riding, and also spending time with her children, grandchildren and many friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 36 years, Larry M. “Mike” White of New Castle, whom she married November 21, 1972; three daughters, Misty Mischelle (husband, Hank “Butch”) Cecil of Spiceland, Balinda “Mickey” Hall (companion, Tim Van Hook) of New Castle, and Melissa Pope White of New Castle; six grandchildren, Michael, Matt, and Breanna Cecil, Jamie and Tori Hall, and Craig Pope; two step daughters, Michelle (husband: Dave) Fyre of Noblesville and Cathy (husband: Robert) Tedders of Michigantown, IN; nine step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren; her father and stepmother, Clifford and Irene Dobbs of New Castle; a brother: Steven K. Dobbs of New Castle; a step sister: Connie of Indianapolis; a niece and nephew: Steven Kent (wife: Polly) Dobbs, Jr. of Noblesville and Dusti Danielle Dobbs (fiance: Matt Pierce); a great niece: Finley Dobbs; her grandmother: Clarice Blevins of New Castle; aunts, uncles and cousins including uncles Noel (wife: Lillie) and Jack (wife: Betty) Blevins; a special sister-in-law: Vickie (husband: Ray) Everhart of Columbia, SC; special friends: Bruce and Shirley Smith of New Castle; her dog: Maggie.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Edna Lois Dobbs; grandfather: Frances Blevins; several uncles, aunts and cousins including a special uncle: Jimmy Blevins; step granddaughter: Carlina Spencer.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Spiceland Pike Church of God with Pastors Randy Shinolt and Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
