Brian M. Walda

Brian M. Walda, 48, a resident of New Castle passed away at his home Sunday, February 16, 2025. He was born July 28, 1976 in New Castle to Michael L. and Brenda K. (Hughett) Walda.

Brian had been employed with Autocar Corporation in Hagerstown and TS Tech in New Castle. He was a graduate of Knightstown High School. Brian took after his father with a deep love for music. He had many other hobbies which included taking his boat out with his best friend Shane Seward. He loved listening to music and going to amusement parks with his brother, Kurtis. He also enjoyed fishing, cookouts and spending time with his granddaughter. He had a dog named June Bug, whom he adored. Overall, he had a great love for life!

Those left to cherish Brian's memory include his mother, Brenda Hughett; brother, Kurtis R. Walda; companion, Jennifer Spoon; two daughters, Brandy and Alexus; two granddaughters, Paisley Ann and Kamiyah Rose; aunt and uncle Shirley Hughett Thompson and Tom Thompson; best friend, Shane Seward; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Michael L. Walda, grandparents, Robert and Mildred Walda and Robert and June Hughett.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Anthony Darling officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in Glen Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Brian Walda Memorial Fund.
