Brittany Ellen Hoskins - storyteller, coffee lover, and plant killer took her place among the stars on May 21st, 2024. She has been reunited with her parents and her beloved Aunt Deb (“Doobs”) for a front row seat to watch over those she loved, while still finding some way to boss everyone around.
Brittany was born on May 4th, 1990 to Rex (“Rexington” as she called him) and Joyce Hoskins. She proudly shared a birthday with Lance Bass from N*Sync, something she never let anyone forget. Brittany graduated in 2009 from New Castle Chrysler High School, where she established her core group of friends that became her chosen family and gave a few teachers some gray hairs. She went on to grace Ball State University with her presence, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Mischief. Brittany always had a soft spot for children, and the ever-winding journey of her life took her to Celebrations Child Care in New Palestine. After leaving Celebrations, she continued to care for children as a nanny in her home. A fierce advocate for children, she made sure that children in her care were safe, healthy and, most of all, loved.
Stubborn. Sassy. Sweet. Wonderful. Giving. Ornery.
Brittany loved her family and friends fiercely, and those who loved her would describe her as those words above. She would use her love language of “gentle bullying” to make sure that everyone else was taken care of before herself. Always the entertainer, Brittany never shied away from embellishing stories or adding her own little razzle dazzle to the mundane by singing, cracking a joke, or being sassy. Brittany loved baking, reading, watching Hallmark movies and Gordon Ramsay shows with her sister, Christmas, Halloween, the Scream franchise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Wizard of Oz, Disney, Pandas, Elvis Presley, Prince, and anything bright and glittery.
She has left behind a host of treasured loved ones who will forever cherish her memory. Survivors include her siblings, with whom she loved to banter: Jeff Greenlee and Alisha Hoskins; her longtime best friend, the Turk to her J.D. (Scrubs reference - she would be upset if you haven’t seen the show): Chelsea (Sean) Muha; Friends who became chosen family: Libby and Ethan Klotz, Jacob and Randy Steele-Johnson, Patrick Burris, Travis Amonett, Misty Donley and many others. She also leaves behind her precious niece and nephew, whom she loved with all her heart, Amara and Kohen Muha. Finn and Sawyer, her spoiled cats, will also miss their loving mom.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday June 2nd 2024 at 3:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
