Callie B. Garrett

Callie B. Garrett, 88, of Natchitoches, Louisiana formerly of New Castle, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Natchitoches Health Care. She was born December 14, 1927 in Estil County, Kentucky to the late Miller and Sarah Alice (Chaney) Brinegar.

She work at Carhartt Overall in Irvine, Kentucky for 20 years and also had worked and co-owned the Garrett Woodworking Company in Spiceland for 35 years. She was a member of the First Apostolic Church in New Castle.

Survivors include her five children, Sue (Carroll) Hughes of Bowling Green, KY, Kathleen (Jerry) Fowler of Anderson, Howard (fiance, Terry) Crowe of Kokomo, Nancy A. (Mike) Asberry of Marthaville, LA and Ruth Ann (Chad) Doolittle of New Castle; thirteen grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Garrett; a great grandson, Bradley Ryan Jones; a sister, Catherine Ashcraft; three brothers, Harve Brinegar, Robert Brinegar and James Brinegar.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery.
