Candace Lou Pollitt, age 51, of Spiceland, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born July 23, 1962 in Rushville, Indiana to Clyde and Laura (Loveall) Wells.
An employee of the New Castle Correctional Facility as a commissary clerk, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved children, especially her grandson and was active in raising funds for Riley Children’s Hospital. Candace loved the outdoors including deer and turkey hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed riding four wheelers, gardening and cooking. She loved pulling pranks on people and was the life of the party.
Survivors include her mother, Laura Wells of Knightstown; husband, Mike Pollitt of Spiceland; two daughters, Kristtel Wells of Bradenton, FL and Breonna Smith of Spiceland; a stepson, Michael Pollitt of New Castle; grandson, Junior McNealy of Bradenton, FL; five siblings, Connie (Charlie) Tucker of Indianapolis, Danny (Jan) Wells of Knightstown, Becky Wells of Knightstown, Jerry (Marlene) Wells of Knightstown and Dean Wells of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Geneva, Dick, Jimmy and Nina Wells.
Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Lomison officiating. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
