Carl L. Butler, 81, of Knightstown passed away March 15, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born February 23, 1938 in Morehead, KY to the late John and Stella (Egan) Butler.
Carl was retired from Delco Remy in Anderson following over 30 years of service. For the past 27 years, he has been the owner and operator of Butler Tool and Die in Knightstown. Carl took pride in his work and really didn’t consider it work because he had fun and enjoyed every minute spent in his shop. Most important to Carl was his family, a loving devoted husband who loved spending time with his wife and family. Carl was a great provider to both his family and anyone that had a need. The First Christian Church of Knightstown was very important to Carl where he was a longtime member and Elder. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed motorsports and especially enjoyed watching his grandson race. Carl was also very fond of his canine friends, Lucy and Lucas.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Jones) Butler of Knightstown; children, Terri (Anthony) Hamilton of Carmel, Rita (Gary) Wyatt of Knightstown and Carl Gregory (Diane) Butler of Knightstown.; grandchildren, Rachelle Villanueva of Carmel, Kelly (Kyle) Davisson of Fishers, Ross Wyatt of Falmouth, Brent Butler of Sandusky, OH, J.T. Butler of Knightstown, Jessica Butler of Knightstown; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Carly, Coryn and Maximus; siblings, Hayden Butler of Knightstown, Charlene (Paul) Jensen of Knightstown and Harold (Janet) Butler of Knightstown; brothers-in-law, Phil Jackson, Roger Jones, Raymond Jones and Richard Rawlins all of Knightstown; sister-in-law, Joyce Butler of Spiceland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by a son, Robert Dale Butler; siblings, Arnold C. Butler, Naomi Jackson, Leon Butler, Richard Butler, Letha Redmon,John Paul Butler, Ray Butler and Sheila Rawlins.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Knightstown with Reverends Anthony Darling and Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, March 18th at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
