Carl Graham

Carl Graham, 72, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born May 30, 1938 in New Castle a son of the late William M. and Goldie I. (Heck) Graham.

Carl was a graduate of New Castle High School and was a life long resident of New Castle. He attended Purdue University and was an avid fan. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Europe during the cold war. He was employed with Chrysler Corporation as a die sinker and retired in 2003 following 39 years of service. After his retirement from Chrysler, Carl was employed at the New Castle Sears Store. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists. In 1994 he was inducted into the Henry County Men’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame and also served as president of the Henry County Men’s Bowling Association. Carl served 20 years with New Castle Little League, serving as team manager, player agent, vice-president and president. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golf, bowling, coin collecting and being with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Vickie (Corum) Graham; son: Brian S. Graham of Rising Sun; daughter: Melanie B. (husband: Jeff) Middlesworth of Fishers; granddaughters: Anna, Elle, Macy and Jill Middlesworth of Fishers; siblings: Marilyn Graham Dunn of New Castle; Wayne D. (wife: Vi) Graham of New Castle; Robert S. (wife: Diana) Graham of New Castle; Brenda J. (husband: Jim) Williams of New Castle; nieces and nephews: Wayne Jr. (wife: Hollie) Graham of New Castle; Melissa (husband: Ryan) Huckeby of New Castle; Matt Graham of Middletown, OH; Heather (husband: Chris) Millis of Kennard; Brad (wife: Christy) Graham of New Castle; John (wife: Cynthia) Graham of New Castle; Jason Williams of New Castle; several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: William P. Graham and a sister: Mila J. Graham.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Monte Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the local American Legion and VFW. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday, February 18, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Cancer Society and Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
