Carl "Gene" Hull

December 12, 1937 — October 19, 2009

Carl E. “Gene” Hull, age 71, of New Castle went to be with the Lord Monday afternoon at his residence following an extended illness. He was born December 12, 1937 in Richmond, a son of the late “Bud” and Lucille (Moroney) Hull.

A 1957 graduate of New Castle High School, he was employed at Henry County Memorial Hospital for over 44 years, where he worked in several capacities including Department Head of the Cardiology Department and EKG/EEG Technician. Gene enjoyed antique automobiles, especially his 1966 T-Bird. He was a member of the Abundant Life Church of God and most recently attended Crossroads Church in New Castle.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Ruth H. Hull of New Castle; a daughter, Lisa E. (husband, Dale) Christine of New Castle; grandchildren, Candice Christine of New Castle, Joshua Smith of Indianapolis, Tasha Christine and Sissy Christine, both of Wartburg, TN., Janice Cox and Dakota Hodge, both of Oak Ridge, TN; a great granddaughter, Emilee Christine of Wartburg, TN; three nephews, David Hull of Chandler, AZ, Chris and Paul Hull, both of Eugene, OR, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Lucille Hull, and a brother, Carlton Hull.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastors Danny Douglas, Gary Weaver, and James Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in New Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the funeral home.
