Carolyn DeHart

December 11, 1953 — June 18, 2010

Carolyn Kay DeHart, 56, a resident of New Castle passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness. She was a 1972 graduate of Knightstown High School. A homemaker, she also had a stand at the Daleville Flea Market. Carolyn had formerly been employed at the Speedway Service Station in New Castle. She raised Chihuahuas and enjoyed spending time with her family and pets.

She is survived by her companion of 10 years: John W. Doughty of New Castle Indiana; one son: Danny Hedges of Indianapolis, Indiana; one daughter: Lorie B. (Erik) Cox of Mooresville, Indiana; two grandchildren; Dylan R. Cox and Micah L. Cox of Mooresville, Indiana; Her father: Gobel J. Sparks (companion Zita M. Shelton) of Hillsboro, Indiana; three brothers: Bob (Melanie) Sparks of New Castle, Indiana, Don (Teri) Sparks of Spiceland, Indiana, Tim Sparks of Dayton, Ohio; one sister: Patricia G. (George A.) Grigson of New Castle, Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and her best friend: Cynthia L Sparks of New Castle.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Delpha Irene Ferguson Raines and a nephew: Manuel Rascon.

Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday June 23, 2010 at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service with the Reverend Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday June 22, 2010 from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Carolyn K. DeHart Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the Funeral Home.
