Carolyn Joan Troxell

Carolyn Joan (Bowne) Troxell, 75, of New Castle, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Henry County Hospital following an extended illness. She was born January 23, 1938 in New Castle the daughter of Robert and Alice (Watt) Bowne.

A 1956 graduate of New Castle High School, she was employed for many years at K-Mart in New Castle. Carolyn was a member of the South Memorial Drive Church of God (formerly Walnut Street Church of God) for 72 years and was active as a volunteer in many capacities. She was a loving mother and an angel to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by four children: Sharon K. (Troxell) Bertram of New Castle, James A. (Laurie) Troxell of Plano, TX, Joe (Judy) Troxell of Oviedo, FL, and Janna Troxell of New Castle; grandchildren: Shanna Bertram Perkerson, Kara Bertram Branscum, Nicholas Bertram, Dustin Troxell, Kain Troxell, Ashley (Troxell) St. John, Autumn Troxell, Allison McKinney, Jennifer Troxell, Link Moffitt and Andrew Moffitt; 6 great grandchildren; one sister: Debbie (Bowne) Wolfe of Greenwood; sister-in-law: Jackie (Charles) Friar of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James L. Troxell in 2001.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 1, 2013 at South Memorial Drive Church of God in New Castle. Burial will follow in Batson Cemetery.
