Catherine Meyer

Catherine E. Meyer, age 93, of Springport, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Allenmore Hospital, Tacoma, Washington. She was born August 19, 1916 in Connersville, Indiana. She was married to Glen Meyer in February 3, 1936. Catherine and Glen raise 10 children. She was a talented seamstress and made clothes and gifts for the family for many years. She also loved to cook, spend time with family and friends and made an occasional trip to a casino. Catherine was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Charles (wife, Patti) Meyer of LaCross, WA, Barbara Rogers of Spanaway, WA, William (wife, Cathy) Meyer of Springport, IN, John (wife, Suanne) Meyer of Graham, WA, Sandy Courtney of Longview, WA; daughters-in-law, Patty Meyer of Elwood, IN and Nancy Meyer of Baltimore, MD; she also leaves behind her brothers, Manford Thomas of Peoria, IL and Elliott Thomas of Gainesville, FL; a sister, Norvilla (husband, Eugene) Copes of Blooming Grove, IN; a special cousin, Betty O’Leary of Connersville, IN; she leaves a legacy of twenty two grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Meyer; children, Doris Baker, Thomas Meyer, Glen Meyer, Jr., Howard Meyer and Gary Meyer; grandson, Robert Meyer; great grandson, Jeremy Waldmann.

Cremation was conducted by Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, Washington. Burial and Graveside Services will be held at Dale Cemetery, 801 Gregg Road in Connersville, Indiana at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010. A family dinner to celebrate her life will be held after the service at William Meyer’s residence in Springport, IN.
