Catherine M. "Kitty" Watkins

Catherine M. “Kitty” Watkins of Sheridan, IL, formerly of New Castle, IN, passed away Monday, August 5. She was born in Henry County Indiana, July 22, 1916 a daughter of Loyd and Cecil Riggle Huffman.

Catherine married Billy Watkins in Indianapolis on December 21, 1935.

She graduated from Cadiz High School with the class of 1934. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in New Castle IN, the Sarah Winston Henry County DAR Chapter, a life member of O.E.S. #579 Brown County, IN and a life member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by anyone who had the honor of knowing her. She also enjoyed compiling family genealogical research.

Survived by son, Patrick (Glenda) Watkins of Sheridan, IL and Michael (Lynda) Watkins of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren, Patrick M. (Mona) Watkins of Tucson, AZ, Terri R. (Jeff) Doran of Savanna, IL, Kelli L. (Greg) Kosobud of Coatesville, IN, Jerry S. Watkins of Cincinnati, OH, Lana M. (Bruce) Tuftie of Newport News, VA; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Harold D. Huffman of New Castle, IN; several nieces and nephews and former daughters- in-law, Joanie Watkins and Sheryl Redfern.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Elbert and Eldon Huffman; three sisters, Evelyn and Pauline Huffman and Wilma June Fairchild.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, IN with Pastor Tobby Smith of Memorial Baptist Church officiating.
