Charity Foster

Charity Foster, age 97, of Muncie, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born December 8, 1912 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late John and Darcus "Mam" (Blevins) Miller.

She retired from Ball State following 15 years of service, where she had worked in housekeeping and the dining room. Charity had also worked for Acme Lees and Butterfield Canning Company. She was an excellent gardener and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking and shopping. Charity was a wonderful mother and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Lee (wife, Sue) Foster of FL, Ruby (husband, Bob) Taylor of Oakville, Shelby Gene (wife, Janice) Foster of Muncie, Wayne (wife, Maria) Foster of Springport; grandchildren, Gary Foster of Jeffersonville, Samantha (husband, Chris) Grimm of Jeffersonville, Jama (husband, Jan) Richman of Daleville, Kent Foster of Dayton, OH, Tom (wife, Leann) Foster of Muncie, Wendi Foster of Indianapolis, Jason (wife, Hannah) Foster of New Castle, Rachel and Hanna Foster of Springport; great grandchildren, Molly and Abby Grimm, Nicholas Foster, Issac Montalvo, Leah Foster, Brandon and Jennifer Foster, Jeremy (wife, Erin) Richman; one great-great granddaughter, Alyssa Richman; sister, Della Beatty of Muncie; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons. Kenneth and Hobert Foster; sisters, Connie Love, Mary Elizabeth "Did" Slaven and Mel Blevins; one brother, Marion Blevins.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Reeder officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. before the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Blue River Dollars for Scholars with envelopes available at the funeral home.
