Charles Randall Ballenger

Charles Randall Ballenger, 66, of New Castle, passed away on August 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born in New Castle on May 5, 1958, a son of the late Edgar Earl and Geneva (Brown) Ballenger.

 Charles was a true people person who found joy in the company of others. At the young age of 17, he began his career in the plumbing industry, with his first job at Kelly Plumbing in New Castle. Over the course of more than 30 years, Charles worked for various companies, ultimately finishing his career at Roto-Rooter.

 In his free time, Charles loved to work with his hands, creating beautiful shadow and jewelry boxes, and model cars. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in the care and detail he put into each project.

 Charles is survived by his children, Rachaell (Andrew) Hancock of Springport and Kelly (Heather) Ballenger of Losantville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Kathy Daffron of Monticello, KY, Patricia Jella of Science Hill, KY, and Cynthia Poore of Monticello, KY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two sons, Tony Ballenger and Charlie Orcutt; two sisters, Eileen Ford and Debbie Dautrich; and one brother, Mitchell Ballenger.

 A celebration of life will be held at 7:00pm Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until the time of service on Thursday. You may express condolences or share memories of Charles at www.hinsey-brown.com.
