Charles Marvin Duke, 76, of Grant City, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born October 18, 1936 in Rush County the son of Roy M. and Mildred (McMichael) Duke.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson following 42 years of service. He enjoyed working on pocket watches, restoring Jeeps, and tinkering with lawnmowers, mopeds and cars. If it had a gas engine he enjoyed fixing it. He also enjoyed hunting in South Dakota and Wyoming.
He is survived by his mother: Mildred Duke; a brother: Glen (Jacqueline) Duke of Rushville; a sister: Doris Ann Duke of Overland Park, KS; a niece: Denise (Tim) Lundberg of Overland Park, KS; nephews: John (Cynthia) Jacobson of Plano, TX, Glen Roy (Melissa) Duke, Jr. of Rushville, Rodney Leroy Duke of Rushville; niece: Glenda Mae Duke of Shelbyville; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Roy M. Duke.
Services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 PM prior to the service.
