Charles Augustus McDaniels Sr.

Charles Augustus McDaniels Sr., 83, of Indianapolis passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at Community North Heart and Vascular Center. He was born November 12, 1939 in Rushville to the late John L. and Ida Ruth (Hankins) McDaniels.
Charles retired from his own business as a long-haul trucker. He was a devoted husband, father, papaw, and great grand papaw. Charles loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a coach to his sons baseball team and a coach to his daughters softball team. Charles loved bowling, horse racing, playing cards and his beloved Colts.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda (Groce) McDaniels; sons, Bobby (Lana) McDaniels and Charles Augustus McDaniels Jr; daughter, Teresa (Tom) Punjack; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Sherry Henry and Debbie (Roger) Evans.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by a brother, John McDaniels and two sisters, Sandra Ruble and Ann Webb.
Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Gregory Issacs officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
