Charles "Buddy" Williams

Charles “Bubby” Williams Jr., 50, of New Castle passed away Friday evening in his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born December 12, 1959 in New Castle, the son of the late Charles E. and Joann P. (Troxell) Williams.

A 1978 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, he worked at Modernfold Industries, Chrysler Corporation Foundry in Indianapolis and INTAT in Rushville. A member of the Moose Lodge in New Castle, he was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle.

Charlie, known as “Bubby” to many, was an avid motorcyclist. He rode with the Posse and the Rolling Thunder. He also enjoyed working on them, and was always involved in Poker Runs, where he would never leave a biker behind who experienced trouble. He enjoyed people in general, especially children and was drawn to fundraising rides that benefited children. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed riding horses with Ben.

He is survived by his two sons, Shane (wife, Haylie) Williams and Chad (wife, Angie) Williams, both of Markleville; a granddaughter, Isabelle Williams of Markleville; two sisters, Penny Williams of New Castle and Debbie (husband, Steve) Adorni of Spring Hill, FL; two nephews, Todd Williams of Muncie and Brian (wife, Christy) Adorni of Spring Hill, FL; several aunts, uncles and cousins and several very close friends including Ben and Vicki Johnson, John and Sharon Dabney, Skippy Clayborn, Junior West, and Suman and Kathy Kalia. Also, many very close neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Williams, his parents, Charles and Joann Williams and a nephew, Casey Adorni.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rex Madison officiating. Following services, Charlie will take his last honorary ride. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Charlie’s Favorite Charity, c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
