Chris Himes, age 43, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 27, 1966 in Fostoria, Ohio to John and Susan Himes.
Chris was a veteran of the United States Navy. He loves working on cars, reading, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years: Mary (Burks) Himes of New Castle; three children: Kelly, Deborah and Shaun Himes all of New Castle; father: John Himes of New Castle; three siblings: John Robert (wife: Candice) Himes, Michelle Himes and Dawn (husband: Jim) Kanatzer all of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Susan Himes.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-Legion Hill. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Christopher Mark Himes Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
