Cinda Stockton, 101, of New Castle went to be with the Lord Friday, June 20, 2014, while at her residence. She was born March 18, 1913 in Albany, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Abner and Maggie (Byrd) Brown.
Cinda enjoyed being a homemaker her entire life. She loved all flowers and spending time in her home with family.
Survivors include a son: Herschel “Junior” (Linda) Stockton of Ocala, Florida; daughter: Sheila (Charles) Moses of New Castle; three grandchildren: Michael (Delores) Stockton of Lawrenceville, Georgia, David Stockton of Ocala Florida and Jason (Sambra) Jarvis of Madina, Ohio; six great grandchildren: Blake Stockton, Christopher Stockton, Alexa Jarvis, Zyler Williamson, Madi Jarvis, and Jaisanna Jarvia; and a special niece: Jackie Sidwell of New Castle.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Herschel Sockton, Sr. in 1998; five brothers, Hobart, Herbert, Verbal, Virgil (V.G.) and Marble Brown; and two sisters: Elizabeth Hopkins and Liza Jane Brown.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Larrel Boling officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
