Clara Esteen (Casada) Shelton, went to be with the Lord on her 95th birthday, Tuesday, June 9, 2015. She was born June 9, 1920 in Indian Creek, Kentucky to the late Richmond and Mary Francis (Hughes) Casada.
She had worked for Modernfold for 26 years and Community Printing for 10 years. Clara was a member of Westview Church of the Nazarene where she served as a board member, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening. The family would like to thank Jason Hamby for all his loving care and for singing her favorite song, Amazing Grace at her funeral.
Survivors include her daughters, Sue (Gary) Bryant and Betty (Allan) Bramlett both of New Castle; six grandchildren, Mike Abston, Geoffrey Lantz, Dara Cook, Leann Brumbaugh, Roth Gourley and Brent Gourley; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two brothers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Shelton; daughter, Fayrene Abston; son, Robert Shelton, Jr.; grandson, Kevin Shelton.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
