Clifford Monroe Denny, 83, of New Castle passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. He was born April 11, 1936 in Henry County, Indiana, a son of the late Elbern and Pearl (Gregory) Denny.
A member of Smyrna Baptist Church, he retired from GM after 32 years of service. Clifford loved woodworking and making furniture.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Denny; sisters, Lova Jean Poer of New Castle and Lela Hill of Indianapolis; stepdaughter, Debbie (Rob) Ellington of New Castle; grandchildren, Amanda (Roscoe) Shelbyof Greenfield, Isiah Jolly and Uriah Jolly, both of New Castle, Josiah (Andrea) Denny of Anderson, and Amy (Mike) Thompson of Centerville; step grandchildren, Erica, Dustin and Brandon Ellington, all of New Castle; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Denny; two children, Tony Denny and Lora Fadley; and a sister, Beulah Bittner.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jim Anderson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by a contingent of the U.S. Army, American Legion and VFW. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
