Clifford “Cliff” J. Helms, 69, of Morristown, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Morristown Manor. He was born November 29, 1942 in Spiceland, a son of the late Charles and Inez (Stoops) Helms.
Cliff was a veteran of the US Army and had worked for INDOT for 22 years. He was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt, fish and trap. Cliff loved spending time with his family especially his grandsons. His nieces and nephews even called him papaw.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Sandi (Anderson) Helms of Morristown; a daughter: Becki (Fiance: Roger Evans) Hinton of New Castle; grandsons: Hunter James Hinton and Parker Lane Evans both of New Castle; brothers: Les (Janice) Helms of Knightstown, Kenny (Janet) Helms of Carthage, Tracy Allen Helms of Carthage, Terry Paul (Linda) Helms of KY; sisters: Pat Mosley of Rushville, Sharon (Cecil) Williams of Shirley; special niece: Tammy (Charley) Sanders of Rushville; mother-in-law: Patty Anderson of Morristown; brother-in-law: Jim (Stella) Anderson of Carthage; sister-in-law: Kathi (Randy) Riggs of Morristown; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery with military rites conducted by the local American Legion and an active duty contingent from the US Army. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Friday.
