Connie Louise McCrobie

Connie Louise McCrobie, 75, of New Castle passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at her home.  She was born December 26, 1948 in New Castle to the late Alfred Eugene and Maida Louise (Hurt) Atkinson.

A full-time mother and grandmother, Connie worked in home healthcare for several years.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and cooking. An avid baker, Connie also enjoyed playing BINGO and watching television, especially true crime shows. Above all else, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children: Angela L. Duvall, Jackie (Jennifer) McCrobie, Jeff (Anna) McCrobie, Sheila Claywell (Lonnie Duvall) and Roy (Teresa) McCrobie, Jr., all of New Castle; nieces and nephews: Brenda Newman, Sherry (Scott) Ullery, Teresa Newman and Terry (India) Newman, Jr.; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; an aunt, Joyce Atkinson and special friends: Debbie P. and Lou Bates

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Sharlett Jean Newman; nephew, Brandon Kennedy; niece, Sabrina Cowan; granddaughter, Tessa Creason; step-father, Lowell Gorman and grandparents, Fred and Nellie Hurt.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Doug Keppel officiating.  Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.   Visitation will be from 2:00 -6:00p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Connie McCrobie memorial fund c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S.
