Coy Lee Brown, age 82, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Henry County Hospital. He was born February 16, 1933 in Creelsboro, Kentucky to the late Charles and Mattie (Dicken) Brown.
He was a United States Army veteran and retired from Dana Corporation in Richmond. He was an avid car enthusiast, he loved racing, both Indy Car and NASCAR and was a gun collector. He loved the Lord and was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Joda (Gary) Guffey of Hillsboro; son, Ron (Carol) Upchurch of Dunnellon, FL; grandchildren, Anna Shelton of Greenfield and Joshua Shelton of Blytheville, AR; four great grandsons; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Gail) Duncan of New Castle; special friend, Mae Dominick of New Castle..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee Brown; siblings, Robbie White, Helen Lee, Bobby Dale Brown, Charles E. Brown, John Robert Brown and Phyllis Marie Brown.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Tony Piper officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions may be given to the Grand Avenue Baptist Church, 2910 Grand Avenue, New Castle, Indiana 47362.
