Curtis Parker, 58, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. He was born August 26, 1954 in Henry County the son of Thomas and Martha (Whitworth) Parker.
Curtis retired from Chrysler following 30 years of service. He drove a school bus for Shenandoah Schools and was also a farmer. He was a strong supporter of the Shenandoah Schools and enjoyed all the athletic events with all age groups. He was very involved with the Sulphur Springs Community in many aspects where he served with the Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. Curtis truly enjoyed his family and was a loving husband and father. He was a very generous, kind, and humorous man who lived life to the fullest and made everyone more important than himself.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 36 years: Roxanne Parker of Sulphur Springs; children: Aaron (Kara) Parker of Bloomington, Andrew (Cami) Parker of Fishers, Amy (Tony) Inman of Fishers, Allyce Parker (significant other: Chris Goodman) of Marion; grandchildren: Ola, Oliver and baby number 3 Parker of Bloomington, Max and Macy Inman of Fishers; a brother: John (Kristie) Parker of Warsaw; aunts: Virginia Thurston of New Castle and Phyllis Whitworth of Middletown; brothers-in-law: Randall (Kay) Swoveland of Daleville, Robert Swoveland of LA; a cousin: Robert (Nancy) Poffenbarger of AZ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an uncle: George Poffenbarger; an aunt: Thelma Poffenbarger; and a cousin: Martin Poffenbarger; father and mother-in-law: Robert and Kate Swoveland.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Randall Swoveland officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
