Dace Riggs

Dace E. Riggs, 29, of New Castle, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove after an extended illness. He was born December 7, 1980 in Richmond, IN the son of Randy E. and Cherene J. Thalls Riggs.

A 1999 graduate of Eastern Hancock High School, he enjoyed theatre and was a member of Drama Club. He attended one year at Anderson University where he also participated in theatre. He enjoyed staying in touch with his friends on Facebook and playing video games. His favorite time of the year was Christmas.

Dace is survived by his parents: Randy (Kathi) Riggs of Morristown and Cherene “Jody” Riggs of New Castle; a sister whom he dearly loved: Lacey Jo Riggs of New Castle; two step-sisters: Karri (Derek) Brown of Morristown and Tarra (Sean) Youngclaus of Greenfield; one niece, three nephews, step-grandmother: Pat Anderson of Morristown; several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends: Cameron, Jennifer and Melissa.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Jack and Edna Mae Thalls; paternal grandparents: Jesse and Reba Riggs.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Chaplain Sarah Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday, December 11, 2009. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dace E. Riggs Memorial Fund c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service 7355 S. State Road 109 Knightstown, IN 46148. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
