H. Dale Madison, 84, of New Castle passed away Sunday, June 08, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born March 10, 1930 in New Castle to the late William Harold and Ruby Ethel Madison.
Dale loved the outdoors and was the perfect definition of an “outdoorsman”. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, camping, shooting guns, throwing tomahawks, archery once winning a state title in his age division, and an avid fisherman. Dale loved to spend time feeding the fish in his pond at home where the fish would follow him around the pond as he would rattle the feed bucket. He also enjoyed bowling. Dale retired in 1989 as owner and operator of Madison Refrigeration.
Dale is survived by his wife of 65 years: Madeline Madison of New Castle; Sons: Dale L. Madison of Ft. Lauderdale and Tim R. (Jamie) Madison of Muncie; grandchildren: Jonathon Dale (Miranda) Madison of Mooreland, Wendy (Geoff) Barber of New Castle, Jeremy R. (Jennifer) Madison of Terre Haute, Ryan D. Madison of Muncie, and Jaelyn D. Madison of Muncie; great grandchildren: Noah, Jonah, Grace, and Lauren Madison all of Mooreland, Brynn and Ali Barber both of New Castle, and Hoyt and Ruby J. Madison both of Terre Haute.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Sue Madison.
Services will be at 10AM Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis Officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
