Dale Leroy Miller, age 68, passed away on April 21, 2025. Born on September 16, 1956, in Plymouth, Indiana, Dale lived a life defined by dedication, kindness, and quiet strength.
Dale attended Webster Elementary and Plymouth Junior High before enrolling at Morton Memorial High School in Knightstown, Indiana. There, he excelled as a wrestler, winning multiple events in his weight class—a sign of the determination and grit that would follow him throughout his life.
After high school, Dale worked tirelessly—by day in construction and by night at a bakery—before joining Reynolds Aluminum, where he served from 1980 to 1987 becoming a Union Representative. He then embarked on a 35-year career with the Marriott Corporation, rising to the role of Director of Engineering. His work took him across the country, with leadership roles at hotels in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Maryland, and Virginia.
Outside of work, Dale was a man of many passions. He spent 15 years coaching softball teams for his daughters, and played both softball and volleyball recreationally. He never turned down a card or board game with friends and family. He was a regular attendee of Gen Con throughout his life, and a voracious reader of fantasy and science fiction novels—devouring dozens annually.
Above all, Dale was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Shanna Leigh Brinegar (Brian) and Elisa Kay Holstein (Matthew), and by his four beloved grandsons: Trace Holstein, Caden Brinegar, Camden Holstein, and Austin Brinegar. He is also survived by his sister Joan Clark and brother David Miller.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Jeraldene (Brown) Miller and John Elmer Miller, and by his granddaughter, Angel Li Holstein.
Dale’s life was one of quiet impact—he worked hard, loved deeply, and made the world a little brighter for those around him. He will be remembered with love and missed beyond measure.
