Daniel Mullins

Daniel Mullins, age 73, of New Palestine and formerly of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 23, 2010, at his residence. He was born April 13, 1937 in Byrdstown, Tennessee to the late Emery and Ophie (Cargile) Mullins.

He was an avid antique enthusiast and enjoyed going to garage sales. Dan was a wonderful provider, husband, father and grandfather. Before moving to New Palestine in 2002 to be closer to his family, he had previously lived in New Castle for 44 years and retired from Chrysler Corporation. Dan was baptized August 8, 2010 with his granddaughter, Joslyn and nephew Terry. He was a member of Franklin Road Church of Christ in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Glenda (Braswell) Mullins of New Palestine, children, Tammy (husband, Craig) Stevens of Greenfield and Sherry Mullins-Patterson of New Palestine, grandchildren, Joslyn Patterson of New Palestine and Skylar Stevens of Greenfield, three sisters-in-law, Ovella Mullins of Byrdstown, TN, Ruth Mullins of Henryville, TN and Sue Brown of Greenfield, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Arnold Troxell of Indianapolis, several nieces and nephews, and two grand-dogs, Jake and Sophie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Bruce Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the funeral home.
