Danny "DJ" Owens

Danny “DJ” Owens, 25, of Pendleton, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 following an extended battle with lymphoma. He was born March 18, 1990 in Angola, IN.
DJ attended Blue River Valley and New Castle High Schools, and graduated from Gymnasium High School in 2010, in Germany. He had the privilege to travel over the world, and also modeled in the U.S. and in Europe. He presently owned and operated The Wild Monkey in Pendleton. An enthusiast of all sports, he excelled in wrestling and baseball. A lover of anything fast, he loved his motorcycle, cars, and all motorized machines. DJ was very energetic and full of life; he was loving and kind, and always smiling.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and step-father, Beth and Ingo Staedter of Pendleton; his father, Danny Owens Sr. (Jennifer Davis) of New Castle; four brothers, Chris Owens of Indianapolis, Garret Owens of Pendleton, and Alex and Dominik Staedter, both of Pendleton; a step-brother, Marc Staedter of Germany; maternal grandparents, Tom and Carol Woodfin of Leo, IN, and Chuck and Sharon Moore of Pleasant Lake, IN; his maternal great grandmother, Marilyn Waggoner of Grabill, IN; maternal step-grandmother, Bernhild Staedter of Germany, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He also leaves his friend; his “son monkey”, Kong, who will remain part of DJ’s family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Rochelle Owens; paternal great grandparents, Richard and Treva Cross and Frank and Edith Owens; maternal great grandparents, Harry Waggoner, and Herb and Kathryn Moore; step-grandfather, Erich Staedter.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Matt Daffron, Chris Owens, and Garret Owens officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Danny “DJ” Owens Memorial Fund, c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN 47362.
