Danny E. Hite

Danny E. Hite, 83, of Mt. Summit passed away at home on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was born in Wayne County, KY on October 10, 1941, a son of the late Alfred Hite Jr. and Bernice (Fouch) Daniels.

In 1960, Danny married his best friend, Sharon; they were married for 62 years until her passing in 2022. Danny worked for Marsh Foods as a truck driver and then a diesel mechanic. He was also employed as a diesel mechanic for Ruan.

Danny loved boating and camping on the Ohio River and taking trips to Florida. He enjoyed racing, especially watching his grandson and great grandson race their dirt bikes along with trips with his brother to the Muncie Drag Strip to watch him race.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Tod) Norris; granddaughter, Chelsea (Jon) Mock; grandsons, Cole (Alexis) Wilson and Beau Wilson; great grandchildren, Ezra and Maki Norris, Asher, Jaden and Audrey Mock, Finley Wilson, Olivia, Lillian; great-great granddaughter, Ava Norris; brother, David Hite; sister, Terry Trimble.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (2022); daughter, Teresa Wilson Fellers (2024); son, Danny Hite (1980); grandson, Matthew Norris (2005).
