Danny Jackson Ramey

Danny J. Ramey, 75, of New Castle passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his residence. He was born March 18, 1949 in New Castle to the late General Jackson and Vada (Collins) Ramey.

Danny was a graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and was a member of the New Castle American Legion. He retired from Chrysler Corporation following many years of service then started Security Auto Sales. He loved his family, friends and his dog, Lucy. He was the life of the party and always enjoyed cutting up and teasing others. Danny enjoyed playing BINGO and singing karaoke. He was a man of faith that will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Brenda Ramey; children, Eric Ramey and Amanda Ramey-Daggett (Duane Cook); grandchildren, Jessica Acrey, Jacklyn (Dylan) Huff; great granddaughter, Haisley Huff and one due in May; sister, Sharon Ramey-Davis; brother, Joel Ramey; nieces and nephews, Crystal (Gilbert) Latham, Chris (Amy) Bertram, Tammy (Frank) Chesher, Joel (Theresa) Ramey II, Jade Lyles, Randy Osborn, Timothy (Cindy) Osborn and Anita (Jeff) Chupp; father-in-law, Richard Devore; sister-in-law, Edie (Rick) Byers and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Robertson and Patricia Osborn; aunt, Atha Collins Razor; nephew, Scott Osborn and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Debbie Griest.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Lenville Gross officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by contingents from the U.S. Army, New Castle American Legion/VFW.
