David Mark Moffitt

David Mark Moffitt, 52, of Spiceland, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Henry County Hospital. He was born June 23, 1961 in New Castle a son of Max and Betty Moffitt.

A 1980 graduate of New Castle High School Special Education Department, he attended Spiceland Friends Meeting most of his life. He worked at Raintree Programs (now DSI). David participated in Special Olympics for several years in track & field and bowling. He loved bowling and was an avid Colts fan. He enjoyed talking on the telephone with his special friend, Russell Clapp. He enjoyed people in general especially family birthdays and holidays.

Survivors include his parents: Max and Betty Moffitt of Spiceland; brother: Ronald (wife, Linda) Moffitt of New Castle; sister: Lisa (husband, Brad) Knotts of New Castle; nephew: Justin Moffitt of New Castle; niece: Lacey Gooden of New Castle; great niece: Brynna Moffitt; several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Ruel and Lucille Bryson; paternal grandmother: Edith C. Moffitt.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Spiceland Friends Meeting with David Brock and Cathy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 PM Tuesday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church.
