David Alan Sander

David Alan Sander, 66, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born September 5, 1949 in New Castle a son of Carl and Ruth Ann (Kraft) Sander.
David was a 1967 graduate of Spiceland High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Avesta Sheffield following 28 years of service. He was raised in the Ogden Methodist Church where he continued membership. David was also a member of the New Castle American Legion Post #137. He enjoyed horses and singing karoke.
He is survived by a son: David Lee (Jenni) Sander of Knightstown; mother, Ruth Ann Sander of New Castle; grandchildren, Emily, Allison, and Benjamin Sander; a brother, James (Sara) Sander; neices and nephews, Crystal (Dan) Payton, Timothy and Elizabeth Sander; great neices and nephews, Reid, Brynn and Ross Payton; former wife and special friend, Wanda “Sally” Sander of Knightstown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Junior Sander.
Services will be at 4:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 PM prior to the service. Military rites will be conducted by the New Castle American Legion and VFW. Condolences and memories of David may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
