David Skirvin

February 22, 1954 — December 4, 2008

David E. Skirvin, age 54 of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 4, 2008 at his residence. He was born February 22, 1954 in Elwood, Indiana to Floyd and Patricia (Stafford) Skirvin.

He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam War. He lived in New Castle before moving to Indianapolis in 2005 and was employed at Larue Carter Hospital as the Staffing Coordinator. He loved computers and enjoyed fishing. He had attended the Abundant Faith Church in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his best friend and fiance: Nancy P. Holder of Indianapolis; two sons: Michael Skirvin of Noblesville and Derek Skirvin of Anderson; a granddaughter: Allison Skirvin of Noblesville; two sisters: Debbie (husband: Greg) Fisher of Losantville, Nan (husband: Donnie) Greer of Elkhart, Tim Skirvin of Losantville, Mike (wife: Karen) of Elkhart, Floyd “Buck” Skirvin of Elwood; mother and stepfather: Patricia (husband: John) Stafford of Elwood; eight stepbrothers and sisters; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father: Reverend Floyd Skirvin; two brothers: Terry and Bobby Skirvin; a sister: Brenda Brown; grandmother: Hazel Skirvin.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Eric Heeter officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may given to the Abundant Faith Church building fund, 1050 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46226 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
