David Wesley Tumilty, 60, passed away surrounded by family on January 23rd, 2020. David was born on July 2, 1959 in Rushville to William and Deloris (Loveall) Tumilty.
David graduated from Knightstown High School in 1978. He then joined the United States Army, serving in Desert Storm as well as working as a mechanic. After 10 years of military service David moved back to Indiana. David was a hard worker who was employed through the years as a carpenter for Kevin Brooks Carpentry and the past several years for Paul Deaton as a laborer.
David was an outgoing person who loved being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Colts, Pacers and Notre Dame Football. David always had a positive attitude and never sweat the small stuff. He never traveled without a cooler and would be the first to show up to lend a hand.
David is survived by three children, Traci (Adam) Kinder, Daniel (Amanda) Tumilty and Michael (Irma) Tumilty; a sister, Dee (Jeff) Davis; a brother, Bill (Mary) Tumilty; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Irene Hoefner; eight grandchildren, Evan, Eli, Will, Madison, Savannah, Cora, Josiah and Mikey and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, William and Deloris Tumilty.
