Debora L. York, age 51, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 15, 2014. She had been a resident of Stonebrooke Rehabilitation since August 2012.
She was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School Special Education Class of 1980. She attended Charity Baptist Church and was a member of the Singing York Family before her health would no longer allow her to sing. She enjoyed going to church and singing Gospel Music and playing with her nieces and nephews. She was born on February 17, 1962 in Henry County Hospital to Earl and Violet (Johnson) York.
She is survived by her mother, Violet York; two sisters: Sandy (Terry) Bertram and Connie (David Miller) Taylor, both of New Castle; three brothers: Rev. Bob (Kim) York of Muncie, Tim (Tina) York and Terry (Suzie) York, both of New Castle; four nieces: Michele & Jenny Taylor and Sofia York, all of New Castle, and Holly York of Muncie; four nephews: Daniel (Tiffany) Taylor, Aaron "AJ" & Austin York, all of New Castle and Zach (Megan) York of Muncie; four great nephews: Daniel Jr, Brody & Logan Taylor all of New Castle and Robbie York of Muncie; special friends: Joan Caylor, Jayne Stoffer and Bob Kirby; and her loving dog: Pepe.
She was preceded in death by her father: Earl York; her sister: Vickie York; grandparents: Bill & Vie York and Roy & Ermon Johnson.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Charity Baptist Church with Pastors Bob York and Larrel Boling officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of donors choice in memory of Deb.
