Deborah Whitesitt, 73, of Knightstown passed away Tuesday November 12, 2024 at IU Health University Hospital. She was born March 27, 1951 in New Castle, the daughter of Cloy and Sadie (Plank) Morgan.
A 1969 graduate of Knightstown High School, Debbie attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and then earned a Bookkeeping Certificate from Indiana Business College. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide for 8 years at Knightstown Elementary and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for a few years. Debbie was a devout Christian and was a member of the Knightstown Methodist Church and currently Center Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing in Colorado and the mountains. She was a huge Elvis fan and was a member of Tri Kappa. In politics, she held conservative views, worked on 3 state-wide campaigns and enjoyed working the polls. Debbie liked to work on projects around the house, crafting, making jewelry and cooking. She was very selfless, always put everyone ahead of herself and never complained.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years, Joe Whitesitt; children, Heather (James) Pearson, Kathy (Courtney) Houston and Bart Whitesitt; grandchildren, Morgan Pearson, Josie and Shelby Hockett; sister-in-law, Carolyn Morgan; several nieces and nephews; and she took on the mom role for many others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Bobby Morgan, who was killed in combat during the Korean War, Bill (Joy) Morgan, Kenny (Eleanor) Morgan and Ronnie Morgan.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Center Christian Church with Pastor Darryl Denney officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Monday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Center Christian Church, 9112 N CR 50 W, Knightstown, IN 46148.
