Deenna LaChelle "Shelly" Roy

Deenna Lachelle “Shelly†Roy, age 40, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord and to join her brother Roger II, Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 16, 1969 in New Castle to Roger D. and Patricia A. (Lane) Roy of New Castle.
Shelly graduated from Tri High School and had attended IUPUI for 2 ½ years. She had retired from the Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home as a house parent and had been employed by Lingle Real Estate as a real estate agent. Shelly attended the Greensboro Church of the Nazarene. She was an avid doll collector of artist dolls and loved traveling to doll shows and shopping in doll specialty stores. She also loved animals especially her dog and cats.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her best friend: Linda Guffey of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her brother: Roger Roy II; maternal grandparents: Alvin and Elva Lane; paternal grandparents: Eddie and Lola Roy; four uncles: James and Phillip Roy, Denny Norfleet and Robert Johnson.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
