Delbert Hedrick, Jr. 83, of Markleville, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Manorcare in Anderson. He was born March 4, 1927 in New Castle a son of Delbert and Gertrude (Hughes) Hedrick.
Delbert was a carpenter and a member of Union Local 1016 of Muncie for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by a son: Carl Hedrick of Lynn, one step granddaughter; one step great grandson; one step great granddaughter; sisters: Mary Nichols, Emma Bailey, Dianna J. Selmeyer and Eva Bailey all of Sulphur Springs, Gloria J. Burton of New Castle; brothers: Melvin E. Hedrick of New Castle and Thomas H. Hedrick of Greensboro.
In addition of his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his wife: Violet Kendall Hedrick; sisters: Nellie May Orr and Fern “Cookie†Kingery; brothers: Edward Hedrick, James R. Hedrick and Charles Hedrick.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 15, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Dale Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Harlan Cemetery.
