Derek Allen "Biff" Lewis

Derek Allen “Biff” Lewis, 33, of New Castle passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, in Orlando, FL in the emergency room. Derek had suffered from kidney disease for the past two years. He passed away from heart issues.

Derek was born in New Castle on March 30, 1984. He was the son of Elaine Wright and Kenneth Prosser. He was a 2002 graduate of New Castle High School. Before his illness, he had worked for My Patriot Supply in Muncie, IN. His #1 passion in life was raising his daughter who he loved dearly and was very proud of. His other passion and hobbies were wrestling and NASCAR. He started an annual Wrestle Mania trip last year. He also loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Taiara Song Lewis of New Castle; mother, Elaine Wright of New Castle; father, Kenneth Prosser of Indianapolis; former step-dad, Timothy Brent Wright of New Castle; brother, Justin Prosser of New Castle; maternal grandmother, Jo Anne Lewis of New Castle; best friend/cousin, Dustin Justice of Middletown; aunts, Susan (Jeff) Sanders of Middletown, Carol Lewis of New Castle, and Phyllis Sheperd of Indianapolis; cousins, Sheryl Crane, Cindy (Brandon) Smith, and Angela (Phillip) Ensminger all of Middletown; best friends, Jessica Ruetz of KY and Bradley McGee of New Castle; many other cousins and friends.

Derek is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Walter Lewis; paternal grandfather, Gene Prosser; and paternal grandmother, Shirley Prosser.

Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 from 4-9 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be Tuesday, April 11th at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
