Donald "Don" Jackson

March 17, 1939 — July 9, 2023

Donald Jackson, formerly of Knightstown, went to his eternal resting place on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his home He was born March 17, 1939 in Greenfield to the late Wilbur and Lois (Loveall) Jackson.

Don was an Eagle Scout during his teenage years. A tool and die maker, he worked at Western Electric for 30 years and also served as union board executive. Don was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and was active in the Masonic Lodge, York Rite and the Order of the Eastern Star. He had also served as a Master Mason. An avid golfer, Don worked at Royal Hylands Golf Course for many years. He especially loved getting together at family gatherings.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Jeanette Jackson; three children: Debra (Bubba) Plank, Cynthia (Gene) Watson and Donald T. (Teree) Jackson, II; brothers: Steve (Karen) Jackson and Rick (Phyllis) Jackson; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Jackson.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, July 14 at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday.
