Donald L. Sidwell, 77, of New Castle passed away March 13, 2014 in Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 4, 1937 in Albany, KY, a son of the late Jessie and Flossie (York) Sidwell.
He had worked at Uptown Auto Sales in New Castle for the past 25 years; and prior to that at Davis Foundry in New Castle. Don enjoyed watching westerns and was an avid John Wayne fan. He just loved being around people and cars in general.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Dawn (husband, Billy) Brown of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brown of Indianapolis; a sister, Opal Denney Burchett of Albany, KY; several nieces and nephews including, Kalvin (wife, Connie) Denney of New Castle, owner of Uptown Auto Sales, where he worked.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mable Keaton, Jenny Holt, and Nina Lundy; two brothers, Roger Sidwell and Junior Sidwell.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Donald L. Sidwell Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
