Donald G. Ward, age 75, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born April 19, 1934 to the late Lewis and Allie L. (Smith) Ward.
Donald attended New Castle High School. He had worked at Firestone in New Castle and also in Decatur, Illinois. He also had worked at Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit.
Survivors include his son: Chris G. (fiancé: Debra Dirbas) Ward of Westfield, IN; a daughter: Deborah E. Ward of New Castle, eleven grandchildren, Lindsay Couch, Wendee Pickett, Jessica Downs, Cory Ward, Donnell Boykin, Jessica, Damien, Derek, Mitch, Dylan, and Jo Ellen Ward, and also nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Milford Holmes.
Viewing and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle services beginning at 8:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Heart Society with envelopes available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
