Donna Evans

Donna Evans, 76, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Heritage House, following an extended illness. She was born October 12, 1937 in Peru, IN to the late Donald and Freida Mae (Bartlett) Harter.

Donna was a graduate of Peru High School and later earned her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University. She retired from Blue River Valley Elementary School after 30 years of service. Donna was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority, Indiana State Teacher's Association and First Christian Church in New Castle. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bridge and attending Bible Study Fellowship.

Donna leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 51 years, David A. Evans of New Castle; two sons, Duane Evans of New Castle and Darren Evans of Fortville; grandchildren, Denise Wolski (Brent Johnson) of Losantville, Tiffany (Dereck) Hamilton of New Castle, Halee Evans of Fortville, and Austin Evans of Fortville; great granddaughter, Britney Johnson of Losantville; and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents; great grandson Nikolas Johnson; and several aunts and uncles.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville. Friends may call from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at the funeral home.
