Donna Jean Shaw

Donna Jean Shaw, 77, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born September 16, 1945 in Henry County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Florence Lavona (Cook) Shaw.

A former resident of Kennard, she attended Knightstown High School. Donna was a very active member of Kennard Christian Church, where she sang in the choir and was involved with vacation Bible school in the summers. She had worked as a caregiver for her father, mother and then continued on caring for many others. She had also served as a babysitter and janitor at church, schools, banks and restaurants. Her hobbies included reading, BSF and embroidery.

Survivors include her brother, Carl Edward (Patricia) Shaw of Anderson; two nieces Stephanie (Bob) Casper of Cincinnati, Ohio and Alisha Kay Stevens of Muncie; great nieces, Jordan Casper of Belgium & Lt. Shelby Casper of Colorado; 4 great great nieces & nephews; and a sister in life, Laura (Tony) Martin of Greenfield.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Martin; two infant sisters, Nancy Anne & Estella Shaw; and her loving pet, Pugsley.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
