Dora Lynn Coner, 74, of Mooreland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 20, 2010. She was born December 27, 1935 in Hamilton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Hobert and Addie (Crawford) McQueen.
A member of the Westview Church of the Nazarene, she had taught Sunday School for many years in several area churches. She served as a volunteer at The Waters of New Castle. Dora Lynn enjoyed reading the Bible and just loved being a “Momâ€.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kenneth Coner of Mooreland; three children, Annis (husband, Rev. Daniel) York of Decatur, IN, Marlena Pearson of Mooreland and Kenny Wayne Coner of Mooreland; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Rosetta Coner of Nancy, KY; a brother, Harry (wife, Shirley) McQueen of Sebring, FL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Alonzo McQueen, and a brother in infancy, Kenneth.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Westview Church of the Nazarene with envelopes available at the funeral home.
