Doris M. Smith

Doris M. Smith, age 60, Of New Castle, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie. She was born January 16, 1954 in Livingston, Tennessee to James Ewing and Ruby Marie (Cooper) Smith.

She had worked at Indiana Mill, Convenience stores and had worked at Village Pantry for 17 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, NASCAR and country music, especially Loretta Lynn.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie M. (Donald) Gibson, and Casey (Courtney) Simpkins; grandchildren, Donna Steele, Stephanie Steele, Brittany Lyall, Jason (Jayden) Boykin, Dustin Boykin, Nichole Boykin, Elizabeth Terry, Isaiah Terry, Kelsey Simpkins and Jayden Simpkins; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Debbie (Ed) Shelton, Reta Guffey, and Je (Lisa) Smith.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Terry; sisters, Gail Lynn Smith and Betty Jo Smith.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Speck Funeral Home, 300 N Church St, Livingston, TN 38570. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Alpine, Tennessee. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service in Tennessee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Doris M.
