Doris (Gosser) Troxell stepped out of her earthly home and into her forever home in Glory on August 7, 2023 at the age of 92.
Doris dearly loved her family and spent her lifetime caring for them and many others. She loved music, quilting, was an amazing cook and baker, and had a tender heart for children. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church.
Doris was born to Olza and Effie Stephens of Russell Springs, KY, on April 6, 1931. She had one sister, Mavis Meadows, and two brothers, Tyson “Buster” Stephens, and Jason Stephens.
Doris was married to Clyde Gosser for 38 years until his death in 1986. Doris and Clyde raised two children: Brenda (Bruce) Aaron of New Castle and Larry (Cindy) Gosser of New Castle. Doris, known as “Mama”, had four grandchildren: David (Jessica) Aaron, Holly (Joe) Joplin, Brooke (Josh) Moulton, and Brittany Gosser. Mama also had nine great- grandchildren: Clay, Luke, Chaz, Eli, Nate, Annie, Gabby, Lars, and Bane.
Doris was later married to Floyd Troxell for over 20 years, until his death in 2009. She became a beloved step-mom & grandma to his family as well.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, August 11, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Joe Joplin officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
